People often wonder if their project can be parylene coated.  While there are huge list of items that can be coated with parylene, there are some limitations.  One of these limitations is size.

The actual application of parylene during the parylene deposition process occurs in a deposition chamber.  Therefore, the object to be coated must fit in this chamber.  Our chamber sizes range from 11” x 11” to 16” x 31”.  This covers a large range of applications and we rarely have to turn potential customers away because their product cannot fit inside our machine.

There are of course larger chamber dimensions available.  Like most things in life, they come with pros and cons.  One of the benefits of a larger chamber is that more items can be coated at once.  This can greatly reduce the price per piece if you have a large volume.  One of the downsides for a larger chamber is that if you do not have a large volume, the costs to maintain and operate a large size chamber could drastically escalate the price per piece with no real added benefit.

Regardless of your product size, more than likely it can be parylene coated.  For larger applications, a larger than normal chamber size may be required and that comes with its own set of benefits and liabilities.
